Suren Zakaryan /head of the jury/ - Armenian composer, pianist, Professor of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. He was born in Yerevan in a family of musicians.
In 1981, Zakaryan graduated from Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory as a pianist (class of Professor L. Vlasenko), and in 1983 he received postgraduate degree. Suren Zakaryan is a laureate of international competitions.
In 1985, he graduated from Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, composition class of famous Armenian composer Edward Mirzoyan.
Zakaryan is the author of numerous chamber works, which premiered in different cities of Europe, the USA, Russia and Armenia. He is a member of the Composers Union of Armenia.
For almost two decades, he headed the Piano Department of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. He is actively engaged in pedagogical, as well as methodological activities, including open lessons, consultations and master classes.
Many of his students are laureates of various competitions. He has been a jury member of many national and international competitions. Zakaryan was awarded the “Mesrop Mashtots” Order of RA Ministry of Culture. |
