CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION-FESTIVAL
1. The application is filled out online /application link/no later than 5 June, 2023.
2. Junior and young pianists from different countries can participate in the competition-festival.
- The competition-festival is held in two formats:
- for participants living in Armenia
- for participants from abroad.
Participants from abroad can also participate in theinternal format.
4. In case of force majeure, the competition-festival will be held online for all participants.
- Auditions of online format participants are held by videos.
- Online format participants should attach YouTube link of their videos to their applications.
- The competition-festival will be of 3 age groups:
- Junior “A” group includes participants up to 11 years of age (born after 1 July 2011)
- Junior “B” group includes participants 12-15 years of age (born after 1 July 2007)
- Young group includes participants 16-20 years of age (born after 1 July 2002)
8. In Junior “A” and “B” age groups the competition-festival will be held in one round.
- Young group of competition-festival will be held in 2 rounds. 50% of the total number of participants of the first round pass to the second round.
10. The 1st degree laureates of previous competition-festival cannot become participants of the same age group.
- Compositions are to be played by memory /no sheet music/.
- All money prizes are parted between participant and teacher.
- Those participants who will not get a Diploma or a Laureate title will get Certificates of Participation.
- Online format participants will get electronic version of diplomas.
- Playing order of internal format participants is to be determined by ballot. Auditions of online format will be held according to the order of receipt of applications.
In Young group the playing order of participants is unchangeable for two rounds.
- The competition-festival will be held in the best concert halls of Yerevan.
Auditions of both formats will be open to the public.
- Young group participants have one acoustical rehearsal for each round.
- Participants pay for their accommodation and road expenses.

Special prizes and awards are defined:
- Prize in each age group, for the best performance of Arno Babajanyan`s works from Yerevan Arno Babajanyan State Musical-Pedagogical College
- Prize from “Kamerton” Cultural NGO
- The Aram Khachatryan House-Museum has established a special prize on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Aram Khachatryan for the best performance of the composer's work, in the case of being included in the program.
The jury has the right not to award or devide awards.
The jury has the right to stop the play if the participant exceeds the mentioned time.
The jury’s decision is final and is not subjected.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
- The number of videos needed in each group:
- Junior “A” group – one video
- Junior “B” group – one video
- Young group – two videos (one video for each round).
- For equal conditions for performances of both internal and online formats, videos must be without stopping between works and without editing.
- Participant`s face and hands should be seen in the video
- Before performing participant, facing the camera, should announce his/her name, surname, age group, and the following text: “For Arno Babajanyan VII competition-festival of pianists”
- Videos that do not correspond to the above-mentioned requirements will not be accepted.
PROGRAMME
Junior “A” group
/participants up to 11 years of age/
The participants have a free programme (total duration 8-12 minutes), which should include any composition of Arno Babajanyan.
Junior “B” group
/participants 12-15 years of age/
15-20 minutes programme
- 1st movement of a sonata or sonatina (Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi)
- Any composition of Arno Babajanyan
- 1 or 2 compositions on participant’s choice
Young group
/participants 16-20 years of age/
1st round
15-20 minutes programme
- one virtuoso etude (Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Skriabin, Debussy, Ligeti)
- the first movement of classical sonata (Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven)
- any composition of an Armenian composer or the nationality of the participant (foreign participants should introduce scores to the jury)
2nd round
15-20 minutes programme
1. Arno Babajanyan - one of the obligatory compositions on participant’s choice:
· “Prelude” and “Dance of Vagharshapat”
· ‘’Impromptus’’ and ‘’Dance of Vagharshapat’’
· Two pictures from “Six pictures” included ‘’Toccatine’’ or ‘’Dance of Sasun’’
· “Capriccio”
· “Poem”
2.Any composition of the 19th century Western European composer (Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Gounod, Liszt, Tchaikovsky)
3.Any composition of the 20th – 21th century composer (scores are introduced to the jury)
